The universe conspires
I have to buy a book. I mean, I have a 7-8 hour train ride and I don't even have a book with me? Nah, not a chance. Don't judge me, I do have a book with me. I just finished it 3 days ago on my flight from London to Munich.
I still have time to look around. There must be some bookstores here, it's a train station afterall. But even if there is a bookstore, do they even have anything that is not in German? Fingers crossed.
Found it! But they don't seem like they have anything in English... I'll just ask this lady over there.
"Excuse me, do you have any English book?"
"Yeah, it's at the corner there."
"Those are the only ones we have, but we have an international bookstore by the platforms."
International bookstore? Whatever that is, I don't think I have there time to go there. I'll just look around here.
Nah, the only ones they've got are some chick lits. I don't mind a Sophie Kinsella, but I've been wanting to read Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. It's such a common book, don't they have it here? Well, to be honest, I did saw the book yesterday, they just don't have my preferred edition. Okay, I know, I'm annoying, but I love my collection of books so let me be. Or at least, do they have anything "heavier" than a chick lit?
I'll just go that international bookstore, I do have some more time afterall. If they don't have anything nice I'll just go back here and get this Sophie Kinsella.

Oh they've got some nice new English books here. A Murakami! Lang Leav! Another Kinsella! Oh they even have a shelf for English book, all in alphabetical order according to the author's last name. Let's see, they can't have 1984, can they? It's a tiny bookstore after all. I can't even find O.
Oh there it is, O! There's only one book. What's that? Can't be Orwell's, I mean what are the odds.
Surprise surprise, it was Orwell's, it was Nineteen Eighty-Four, and of course, it was my preferred edition.
